The game will start with your selected cheats active.
Adding new cheats: You can add up to 10’000 cheats to X-Plorer
64. These can be easily added from your favourite magazines or
kai666.com Or even from your friends X-Plorer 64. Remember you
can also use Action ReplayTM / EqualizerTM cheat codes, but
X-Plorer Codes will not work on other cheat cartridges.
You will notice the cheats are split into three areas:- The Game
Name, The Cheat Description and The Cheat Code.
Your first step is to enter the game name.
1. Select “Select Cheats” from the Main Menu.
2. At the top of the list you will see “Add New Game”. Move the
pointer this and press the A button
3. You can now enter the name of the game. Using the controller
(use D-pad), select each of the letters (or spaces etc.) In turn
and press the A button to spell out the game name. Pressing the
L and R buttons will move the cursor left and right and pressing
the C-left button will delete a character.
4. When you have finished entering your game name, press Start
or select “OK”. If you wish to abandon the entry,
select “Can” To cancel the operation.
Now you should enter the cheat description (e.g., Infinite
Lives).
1. Highlight the Game Name you have just entered and press the
C-right button.
2. Move to the “Add New Description” and press the A button
3. You can now enter the Cheat Description in the same way as
you entered the game name.
4. Press Start or select “OK” to complete the procedure.
Finally, you can enter the cheat code itself;
1. Go to the Game Name you have entered and press the C-right
button.
2. Now move the pointer to the Cheat Description you have just
entered and press the C-right button.
3. Now move the pointer to “Add Cheat Code” and press the A
button
4. Again, you can enter the code in the same manner as above,
but you can only enter the numbers 0 to 9 and letters A – F.
These are the only figures a code can consist of.
5. Enter the sequence of 8 + 4 (12) characters ensuring that you
enter the code correctly. If you make a mistake, you will need
To amend the code as it will not work correctly.
When you leave the cheat screen, your new codes will be stored
in X-Plorer’s memory (You must enter “Start Game” to ensure that
new codes and alterations are safely stored in X-Plorer’s memory).
(Turning the power off, right after entering new codes, will
delete the new codes and other alterations you may have
performed). You can delete the cheats at a later date if
required.
You can activate new cheats as described in “Selecting Cheat
Codes”.
You do not need to enter the game name again if you add another
cheat at a later date. Simply highlight the game name again and
view the current cheats for that game and simply add a new code
description and code within that game-name cheats.
IMPORTANT: Starting with Special Games: Some games requires the
X-Plorer and console to be started differently than normal. In
the past, other cheat Cartridges have required you to send your
cheat cartridge back to the manufacturer to be updated –
X-Plorer 64 has a unique Key-code system which allows access to
any existing and forthcoming games for entering your cheat
codes.
If, after following the above instructions “Connecting your
X-Plorer 64” you are faced with a blank screen, you will
probably need to change the Boot Mode on your X-Plorer 64.
Special Game Boot Modes
X-Plorer 64 comes initally with 4 Boot Modes that currently
cover all Existing games titles.
These 4 modes cover the following games;
Boot Mode 1 (LED constantly ON) =

the LED will flash once.
Turn the power off and wait 4 seconds.
Power up your console.
If the game does not work, repeat the above procedure - each
press of the button will switch to the next Boot Mode.
This will cycle through each of the current Boot Modes. Boot
Mode 1 is shown with the LED constantly ON.

will cycle through each of the current Boot Modes. Boot Mode 1
shown with the LED (red light) constantly ON.
Code Constructor: The Code Constructor is the most powerful part
of X-Plorer 64. No longer do you have to wait for new codes to
be created – You can make own. Please note that you MUST have
the 4 Meg console memory expansion (available form Blaze,
Nintendo And other sources) fitted before you can use the Code
Constructor (In-Game Trainer from the XP-64’s Main Menu).
Creating new codes may sound complex and will certainly look a
little daunting at first. However, with patience and practice
you’ll realise that it’s great fun and “easy” to do. First of
all, to enable the In-Game Trainer, simply press R button on
your Controller on the main X-Plorer screen, a message will be
displayed informing you that the trainer now is enabled.
N.B many codes on the X-Plorer 64 will not be working when the
In-Game Trainer is disabled, also a great deal of codes will not
be working if the 4 Megabit console memory expansion (N64
Expansion-Pak) is not fitted in your N64
Once the game is in progress the in game cheat menu can be
activated by pressing “L + Start + Z buttons”, this will freeze
The game action (pressing Start button will continue the game)
To find cheats is “straightforward”. X-Plorer uses the principle
that somewhere in memory is a value that corresponds to your
Lives, energy etc. this value usually goes down. All you have to
do is tell X-Plorer what is happening to the value you wish to
Find ( for example have lost a life) and X-Plorer will find the
cheat for you. We recommend that you first search for a value
that already exists in X-Plorer to give you a feel for using the
Code Constructor. Infinite Lives is always easier to find than
Energy or Level Select, so it’s a good idea to try familiar,
lives based game as your first try.
01. With your X-Plorer 64 in place, load the game and start
playing – let’s say you’ve got 5 lives.
02. Activate the In-game Menu (“L + Start + Z”)
03. Now select the “Code Finder” option.
04. As we know the value we are looking for (i.e. “5” lives)
then we should select the “Search for a known Value” option.
05. Enter “5” on the “Enter new Value to search” screen and
press button ‘A’. X-Plorer 64 will start searching.
06. When finished – you will see a number of possible codes on a
new screen – this is almost to high at this stage.
07. Now resume the game and lose a life.
08. Re-enter the Code Constructor and repeat the above, changing
the known value to 4 lives. This will check through the
Existing possibilities and see which has now changed to 4.
09. Continue this procedure until the number of possibilities is
reduced to a number that can be easily tested – don’t worry if
you lose all your lives, you can start with 5 lives again and
just continue searching back through 5, 4, 3 lives etc.
10. Selecting “View Results” will display the codes found. Try
selecting each in turn and resuming the game – each time
Trying to lose a life. If your character “dies” but your lives
stay at your current level,
Congratulations, You’ve found the correct code !!
The above is just one example of a code that can be found. Here
is another, which is more suitable for finding an Energy Bar. If
you have already tried Infinite Lives Cheat and have been
successful , then maybe you want to try and find something a
Little trickier. The “Known Value” Trainer is always the easiest
to use and is initially the best option for finding this type of
cheat.
Lives are a specific value (i.e. 5 lives) but Energy may simply
be a coloured bar on-screen that has no number – how do you
Search for this value? There is no value you can try. This is
where the alternative Trainer types become invaluable – because
You can search for higher, lower or different values than your
original search. If you start with Full Energy and perform your
search, you would then have to lose some energy and use the
“Lower” Value search. Fighting games are generally good for this
type of code.
With your X-Plorer 64 in place, load the game and start playing.
1. With your energy bar at maximum, Activate the In-game Trainer
(“L + Start + Z”)
2. After selecting the Code Finder option, select “Start Unknown
Search”. The X-Plorer will look through the system memory.
All you need to do is next time you freeze the game play is
remember Whether is more, less or the same.
3. Resume the game and lose some energy.
4. Now re-enter the Code Constructor. Select the Code Finder and
select “Less Than”. You obviously have less energy than
the original search.
5. Resume the game and lose even more energy. Again re-freeze
and again select the “Less Than” Value search (as in point 4)
Continue this procedure until you lose your life. Don’t worry –
you don’t have to restart the trainer! When you restart the
game, Freeze the game play as normal, but this time select the
“Greater Than” option. On this occasion your energy is greater
than last search. (The next search will again be a “Less Than”
search.)
6. Continue this procedure. It will take longer than a lives
search, but is more thorough. If you do make a mistake at any
time, you must restart the trainer, as it will not find the
cheat that you are looking for.
7. Once the possibilities at the bottom of the screen are a low
enough value you may try some of them in the same way as the
first example. Once you have found the correct value you may
store it in the X-Plorer for later use.
N.B Once you have found the codes, you will have to write them
down so you can enter them into the X-Plorer at a later date.

“test area” for testing new your new-found codes. This allows a
number of cheat codes (up to 40) to be tested at a time. You can
also enter new codes without re-setting the X-Plorer 64 or
remove any old codes you may have running from previous training
sessions. Please note, not all codes are valid In this area,
only codes starting with 00, 04, 80, 81, 84 and 85 will work
*Code Constructor Game Trainer Menu*
Start Search: Starts the Code Constructor search engine to look
for an unknown value (Energy bar, Player position etc.)
Start Search for a known value: Starts the Code Constructor
trainer with a direct value search (e.g. lives, points etc.)
This is much faster than the unknown value search method. You
can use the above example to search for any known value –
Either “9” lives, “50” coins, or any numbered game value.
Back to previous menu: Goes back one screen.
Once instructed to Search, the Code Constructor menus will
include additional functions, dependent on the type of search;
Resume Game: Continues the game.
Greater / Less / Same / Dif / Value: Performs a comparison with
the last search (for example if you were looking for the Energy
Bar, losing energy in the game prior to the next search would
mean you would perform a “Less” search. i.e. your energy is less
than when you did the original search.
View Results: Displays a list of possible cheat codes found (if
any).
Back to previous menu: Goes back one screen.
Upgrade: X-Plorer 64 is the most upgradeable cheat cartridge in
